Ghislaine Maxwell moved to federal jail in Brooklyn

The Washington Post–Ghislaine Maxwell, the longtime companion of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein accused of facilitating his sexual abuse of teenage girls, has been transferred to a federal detention center in Brooklyn ahead of an arraignment and bail hearing that may come next week.

Maxwell, 58, was arrested Thursday in New Hampshire on charges she lured and groomed victims as young as 14, officials said. Federal prosecutors also accused Maxwell of participating in acts of sexual abuse with Epstein, the wealthy and well-connected financier who died by suicide last year while in federal custody.

Federal Prosecutors Investigating Jeffrey Epstein and His Associates Call Out Prince Andrew for the Second Time

Law&Crime–Federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York have rubbished, for the second time, Prince Andrew’s claims of eagerness and willingness to answer questions about his former associate: dead pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Earlier on Monday, Law&Crime reported that federal prosecutors were invoking the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty in an attempt to secure the embattled royal’s testimony amid an ongoing investigation of Epstein’s alleged sex-trafficking scheme. Prince Andrew’s lawyers claimed in a statement to ABC News that the Duke of York has “on at least three occasions this year offered his assistance as a witness to the DOJ.”
