Epstein’s ‘Manhattan Metro’ Prison Guards Transferred To Brooklyn

Ghislaine Maxwell moved to federal jail in Brooklyn

The Washington Post–Ghislaine Maxwell, the longtime companion of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein accused of facilitating his sexual abuse of teenage girls, has been transferred to a federal detention center in Brooklyn ahead of an arraignment and bail hearing that may come next week.

Maxwell, 58, was arrested Thursday in New Hampshire on charges she lured and groomed victims as young as 14, officials said. Federal prosecutors also accused Maxwell of participating in acts of sexual abuse with Epstein, the wealthy and well-connected financier who died by suicide last year while in federal custody.

After Epstein’s death at Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center, where he was awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges, the U.S. attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York vowed to pursue accomplices. Maxwell’s arrest has been praised by Epstein’s accusers, who remain hopeful that others in Epstein’s circle may also be held accountable.
