Pelosi Faces Challenge – What Does Ocasio-Cortez Think

The Washington Post reports that, “Pelosi faces daunting challenge in speaker’s bid as Democratic foes stand firm.”  We were curious as to what the newest, youngest and lately,  most quoted member of the New Democratic Caucus thought about Nancy’s chances to be Speaker of the House.  As it turns out, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez thinks about a lot of things….

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday faced solid opposition from at least 17 Democrats and encountered a significant bloc of undecided women in her bid for speaker, setting the stage for an intense battle over who will ascend to one of the most powerful positions in Washington.

After a campaign in which some Democrats prevailed in competitive districts by promising to oppose her, a coalition of incumbents and newly elected members have denied her a smooth path to the speakership. Those ranks could swell as more races are called.

Random deep thoughts by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez:

Ocasio-Cortez and the Economics of ‘Free Shit’

The National Review writes about Democratic-Socialist, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, “Boston University’s Fake-o-Nomics Darling.”  They put it bluntly, “It costs a pretty penny to earn a diploma in stupid.”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez majored in economics, but she doesn’t seem to have learned much.

The annual list price to attend Boston University — including tuition, fees, room, and board — currently rounds out to $70,000. To acquire a degree in economics from this tony institution of higher learning, an undergrad must complete courses in calculus, microeconomic and macroeconomic analysis, empirical economics, statistics, and assorted electives.

Four years, 52 credits and nearly $300,000 later, the school promises that BU economics majors will depart “with a firm understanding of core microeconomic and macroeconomic theory” and the “empirical skills that are essential to applying economic reasoning in our increasingly data-driven world.”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Responsible For The Extinction Of Donkeys

Perhaps hyperbole?  Perhaps premature?  Perhaps not.  If Ms. Ocasio-Cortez has her way and “Makes America Venezuela”, then our donkeys and burros could be going the way of Venezuela’s.  The Miami Herald writes, “Donkey herds are dwindling as hungry Venezuelans slaughter them for food“.

A few years ago, there were so many donkeys, or burros, in the Venezuelan state of Falcón that they were a problem — herds everywhere, causing highway crashes and blocking airport runways.

But over the past three years, the herds have shrunk dramatically as thousands of burros have been slaughtered for their meat by Venezuelans suffering through a near-famine.

“There’s no more burros here,” said Odalys Martinez, a resident of the Paraguana Peninsula in northern Falcón.

Here are a few more Democratic Donkeys that we hope Ms. Alexandria will lay to rest…
