SFGate–For the millions of Californians sticking close to home during the coronavirus pandemic, unwelcome news from PG&E has landed: The dreaded Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) may be coming back.

The beleaguered company claims that, unlike last year’s days-long shutoffs, this year any power outages due to dangerous wildfire conditions will be shorter and smaller.

“The cadence and frequency of notifications will depend on the forecasted gusty winds and dry conditions, combined with a heightened fire risk, and how quickly those threats change, among other factors,” says PG&E.

California Overtakes North Korea For Prestigious “Third World Shithole” Designation

California Can Expect Blackouts For A Decade, Says PG&E CEO

Such a lovely place (such a lovely place)…

From The Daily Caller, “VICTOR DAVIS HANSON TELLS TUCKER WHY CALIFORNIA IS ‘AMERICA’S FIRST THIRD-WORLD STATE’.

Responding to host Tucker Carlson’s question about why he considers California a “Third World state,” Hanson pointed to “symptoms” we typically “associate with failed states” such as high taxes, poor schools, a super-rich class, and a significant percentage of its people below the poverty line.

“We have the most billionaires of any state in nation and then we have the largest underclass,” he said, blaming in part the overturning of the “very popular” Proposition 187, which would have denied non-emergency healthcare to illegal immigrants.

“That was unfortunately part of a perfect storm,” said Hanson, describing the millions of people who chose to move elsewhere over the next two decades.
