Spring Fails to Show This Year

Here’s another AGW-Climate Change-Global Warming (AKA: Weather) update from the annals of AccuWeather.com, “Spring snowstorm to target Boston, graze NYC, Philly“.

With the first day of spring ending up colder than Christmas Day, the stage is set for disruptive snow to ride up the coast of the northeastern United States AGW_Research_Fail_01Sunday evening into Monday.

After wet snow in the mid-Atlantic struggles to stick to roads, the threat of snow-covered roads will heighten Sunday evening into Monday as an offshore storm begins to strengthen and cause moderate to heavy snow along the Northeast coast.

Darwin duly notes that this “fevered” camper was undoubtedly crazed by AGW-Climate Change-Global Warming (AKA: Weather). Otherwise, what the ‘effing hell would he have been doing on the roof of his cabin during avalanche season? Not only was he risking freezing the family jewels (not good for the old genome count), but burying them until Spring Thaw–which has been known to decrease the opportunity to pass those very genomes along.

America’s New Navy – 1800’s Style

In case you missed it because you were watching the Presidential Debates and exercising your right to vote in the Primaries, The Washington Times reports, “Pentagon orders commanders to prioritize climate change in all military actions“.  We are so screwed….

The Pentagon is ordering the top brass to incorporate climate change into virtually everything they do, from testing weapons to training troops to war Wind_Powered_Aircraft_Carrierplanning to joint exercises with allies.
A new directive’s theme: The U.S. Armed Forces must show “resilience” and beat back the threat based on “actionable science.”
It says the military will not be able to maintain effectiveness unless the directive is followed. It orders the establishment of a new layer of bureaucracy — a wide array of “climate change boards, councils and working groups” to infuse climate change into “programs, plans and policies.”

So what do you do if you’re a greenie and it’s dark outside (no solar), and there’s no wind (no turbine power) and the EPA shut your coal-fired electrical plant down and it’s really, really cold outside (reduced battery life) and you still have to work for a living?

Peak Oil – Getting Greased

** Peak Oil:  is the point in time when the maximum rate of extraction of petroleum is reached, after which it is expected to enter terminal decline.  It is often confused with oil depletion; however, peak oil is the point of maximum production, while depletion refers to a period of falling reserves and supply.

AGW – Turbine Deicing

Use your critical thinking abilities to determine what life would have been like during this weekends “SnowZilla” winter weather event had a majority of the energy supply been provided by green sources such as solar or wind.  How  cold and dark would your home have been?

The entire rationale for wind turbines is to stop global warming by reducing the amount of CO2 being returned to the atmosphere from the burning of fossil fuels.

AGW_de-icing-wind-turbineIn the attached picture, recently taken in Sweden, freezing cold weather has caused the rotor blades of a wind turbine to ice up bringing the blades to a complete stop.

To fix the “problem” a helicopter is employed (burning aviation fuel) to spray hot water (which is heated in the frigid temperatures using a truck equipped with a 260 kW oil burner) on the blades of the turbine to de-ice them.

The aviation fuel, the diesel for the truck, and the oil burned to heat the water, could produce more electricity (at the right time to meet demand) than the unfrozen wind turbine could ever produce. (Before it freezes up again).

The attached picture is a metaphor of the complete insanity of the climate change debate.

In decades to come this one photo alone with sum up an era of stupidity, when rational thought, logic and commonsense was abandoned and immense wealth and resources needlessly sacrificed.
