Why Trump Ditched Washington Correspondents Dinner

From Fox News, “Trump says not going to White House Correspondents dinner“.

President Trump said Saturday that he will not attend the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, escalating his battle with the news media and raising questions about the future of the annual event.

“I will not be attending the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner this year,” Trump tweeted. “Please wish everyone well and have a great evening!”

The comment was just the latest turn in Trump’s adversarial relationship with the news media, which essentially began at the start of his campaign in July 2015 and took another questionable turn Friday.

Washington Post Fears Passive-Aggressive Trump White House Press Office

Here’s what the Washington Post writes, “Has the White House press office’s silence become a weapon in its war on the media?”  Oh Nooo’s!  They won’t talk to me.

An eye-opening sentence has appeared in several important news stories about the Trump administration in recent days: The White House did not respond to requests for comment.

Not “the White House declined to comment” or “We’ll get right back to you.” But no response at all when reporters have asked for the White House’s take on developments.

So here’s what I tell ’em. Suck it up Buttercup because I, too, know how it feels to be ignored. I send email after email to the Washington Post asking them for comment on why their Donald Trump coverage is so tainted with liberal bias, and whether it is John Podesta or Robby Mook that is providing them their talking points, but all I hear from them is ‘crickets’.

I’ve also asked them to confirm that Kate Walsh is their insider leaker source. And still more crickets. Why?

CNN Morphs Into ‘Clown News Network’

Now that we no longer have a Clinton to kick around anymore, CNN, once known as the Clinton News Network, has changed identities.  Never to be behind the MainStream Media curve, and always a leader in juggling digital fishwrap, behold the new, and unimproved, ‘Clown News Network’.

Steve Bannon to Media – “Just Shut Up”

From the NYTimes, “Trump Strategist Stephen Bannon Says Media Should ‘Keep Its Mouth Shut’“.  Now that’s an idea worth considering.

Just days after President Trump spoke of a “running war’’ with the media, his chief White House strategist, Stephen K. Bannon, ratcheted up the attacks, arguing that news organizations had been “humiliated” by the election outcome and repeatedly describing the media as “the opposition party” of the current administration.

“The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for a while,” Mr. Bannon said in an interview on Wednesday.

Who’s Smarter – A Dog or the Lapdog Main Stream Media?

I think we have our answer.

From Mediaite, “‘You Are Fake News!’: Trump and CNN’s Jim Acosta Get Into Shouting Match at Presser”.

With Trump looking to call on other reporters, Jim Acosta yelled out, “Since you are attacking us, can you give us a question?”

“Not you,” Trump said. “Your organization is terrible!”

Acosta pressed on, “You are attacking our news organization, can you give us a chance to ask a question, sir?” Trump countered by telling him “don’t be rude.”

“I’m not going to give you a question,” Trump responded. “I’m not going to give you a question. You are fake news!”

And sit your ass down, Jim.  Slow to learn doggie.
