California Dreamin’ – Gov. “Moonbeam’s” Failed Spending Priorities

Gov. Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown, was well aware that the Oroville Dam needed extensive, costly repairs and upgrades, but with the “Climate Change” drought turning California into sandy wasteland, why bother?  Besides, the Governor needed the money to provide all those goodies that the State’s Illegal Immigrant population has come to expect and demand.  After all, it was California’s job to make sure Hillary’s ‘popular votes’ would be around when she needed them.

But AGW-Climate Change-Global Warming (AKA: Weather), turn out to be just weather.  It rained again in California.  Ooops.  That deferred maintenance does add up.  Read what The Mercury News reports.

More than a decade ago, federal and state officials and some of California’s largest water agencies rejected concerns that the massive earthen spillway at Oroville Dam — at risk of collapse Sunday night and prompting the evacuation of 185,000 people — could erode during heavy winter rains and cause a catastrophe.

FERC rejected that request, however, after the state Department of Water Resources, and the water agencies that would likely have had to pay the bill for the upgrades, said they were unnecessary. Those agencies included the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, which provides water to 19 million people in Los Angeles, San Diego and other areas, along with the State Water Contractors, an association of 27 agencies that buy water from the state of California through the State Water Project.

More Hateful Democrats Blocking Schoolhouse Doors

It’s not racist Democratic Gov. George C. Wallace (D-Al) blocking the schoolhouse doors this time, but a group of hate spouting Washington DC Teachers Union members with some tag-a-long protesters blocking Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos from entering a Middle School in Washington DC. Perhaps they were afraid that she might find a way to free them from the toilet of a failing public school.

“Gordon” is the first in a new line of robotic automated baristas at Cafe X in San Francisco, capable of taking and delivering two orders a minute, every minute, all day long.

At this point one start to wonder what impact Seattle’s mandated minimum wage of $15.00 per hour will have on the decision logic of hiring a few ‘Gordon’s” to take over the barista positions.

The process isn’t just fast, it’s streamlined to be completely hassle-free. All you need to do is tap your desired order on your phone, or use the kiosk’s built-in screen. Within seconds, Gordon will provide you with a perfectly executed beverage of your choice, down to the artisanal beans.

Gordon executes these orders with the help of a six-axis arm designed by Mitsubishi. But in automating the process, is the art of the brew somehow lost? Cafe X CEO Henry Hu doesn’t think so.

Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz’s announcement that the coffee giant would hire 10,000 refugees came in a statement in which he mentioned his “deep concern” at US President Donald Trump’s executive order restricting entry from seven predominantly-Muslim nations.

“I also want to take this opportunity to announce specific actions we are taking to reinforce our belief in our partners around the world and to ensure you are clear that we will neither stand by, nor stand silent, as the uncertainty around the new administration’s actions grows with each passing day,” Schultz wrote.

One might be wont to note, “As you brew, so shall you drink from that cup.”
